This weekend marks the end of our Easter break and ‘reading week.’ After finishing term 1 in a flurry of assignments, it has been nice to sit back and have a bit of time off as well as time to catch up on some important study.
We enjoyed having family from Canberra staying with us over Easter. Gill’s sister and her family and Gill’s parents came to Melbourne for the weekend. We went to the zoo together (as you can see I particularly liked seeing the giraffes) and had an all round good time with them. It was lovely to have a big get together with all the Melbourne family on Easter Sunday, and also having the chance to meet our new cousin, Lachlan who was born the week before Easter.
On Friday we enjoyed having a ‘date day’ as we cycled around the Yarra, it reminded us a lot of Linear Park in Adelaide, but instead of ending up at Henley Beach, the ride finished in the city and then we looped home. You can see some of our ride (complete with photos) here. We didn’t figure out the GPS tracker until we had already started!
The rest of this week has been taken up with study and catching up with ourselves. Chris has been working on his Greek translations for term 2 and Gill has been writing an essay about the theology behind the sacrificial system in Leviticus. Here’s a summary of Gill’s essay:
As you can see, it was a full on essay to write! What a privilege though to have the time and opportunity to think in detail about how Leviticus is relevant to our faith!
This week we will start term 2! How quickly the year has already gone. It looks to be a busy term ahead, so we appreciate your prayers and support as we go through it day by day.
Praise God with us for:
‑An exciting term 1 of Bible College
‑A lovely Easter break with the opportunity to catch up with family
‑The safe and healthy arrival of our cousin Lachlan
Please pray with us for:
‑Diligence and concentration as we go into term 2
‑Provision of ongoing work for Gill as she keeps seeking out opportunities
‑Wisdom as we seek the best ways to maintain relationships with you guys!
